159th Queen's Plate set for Saturday, June 30, 2018

TORONTO, December 5, 2017 – Woodbine Entertainment announced today that the 159th running of the $1 million Queen’s Plate, first jewel of the Canadian Triple 

Crown, will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018.


North America’s oldest continuously-run stakes event showcases Canada’s finest three-year-old horses as part of a weekend-long festival of live entertainment including world-class horse racing, concerts and Canada Day family celebrations.


The three-day 2018 Queen’s Plate Festival will run from Friday, June 29 through Sunday, July 1. Previously held on the Sunday of the festival, this year’s Queen’s Plate race moves to the Saturday, with first race post time scheduled for 12 noon.
