Clickity Clack right on track heading into Eternal Search Stakes Clack right on track heading into Eternal Search Stakes

TORONTO, August 2 – Clickity Clack, a three-year-old daughter of Silent Name, seeks her second added-money crown and third lifetime win in Sunday’s co-featured $100,000 Eternal Search Stakes, at Woodbine.

Trained and co-owned by Tony Gattellaro, Clickity Clack heads into the 1 1/16-mile main track race off a third-place effort in the South Ocean Stakes last November.

The dark bay, who captured the $225,000 Princess Elizabeth Stakes in November by nosing out favourite Avie’s Mineshaft for top prize, will now look to make her seasonal debut a winning one.

Gattellaro, who co-owns Clickity Clack with longtime friends Tamara Baker, Paul Statchuk, John Gallagher, Dave Carlson and Andrew Carlson, believes the filly will be ready forSunday’s stakes test.

“She’s back,” said the multiple stakes winning conditioner. “She’s in good form. We had a minor setback earlier in the year and could have gone on, but I have a lot of respect for (Queen’s Plate champ) Wonder Gadot and (Woodbine Oaks, presented by Budweiser winner) Dixie Moon. So, we made the decision to give her some time.”

Bred by Woodbine outrider Robert Love and his wife Michelle, Clickity Clack was a $20,000 yearling purchase from the 2016 Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society Yearling Sale.

She finished second in her career bow on August 7 and was seventh in the Muskoka Stakes next time out.

In her third start, which came on October 7, Clickity Clack broke her maiden. She then went on to take the Princess Elizabeth on a head bob at odds of 10-1.

In five lifetime starts, she’s notched two wins, a second and a third.

“The first time I saw her, I really liked her,” said Gattellaro. “She has a real athletic, pretty look to her. She’s even more than we expected. She has a ton of heart and a beautiful, free-flowing stride – just so efficient. Obviously, it’s not ideal going 1 1/16 miles in her first start, but she’s in the right class and she’s coming into the race well.”

The Eternal Search is Race 8 on Sunday’s 10-race program. The $125,000 Clarendon Stakes, at 5 ½ furlongs, is Race 3 on the card.
