SWA Group was chosen from a short list of international firms with expertise in the master planning of large-scale urban destinations, through an invitation-only Request for Proposals process lead by LiveWorkLearnPlay (LWLP), WEG’s development consultants. Assisting SWA will be BCV Architects and Nelson Nygaard.

Since the implementation of the 2016 Elimination Guidelines on March 1, 2016, the CPMA has received reports of an increased number of detections from therapeutic medications, in particular the drug prednisolone. The reason for these results is unknown but they could be attributed to the use of compounded medications, veterinary practices not consistent with the new guidelines or a lack of awareness by stakeholders of the changes.

The Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame is pleased to announce its 2016 ballot. In this the 40th Anniversary of the CHRHF, a total of 30 horses and people comprised of 15 Standardbred racing candidates and 15 Thoroughbred racing candidates have been selected to appear on the voting ballot. A 20-person Election Committee for each breed will determine the winners in their respective categories. Results will be announced Tuesday, April 5.

A real solution to a problem this complex, unfortunately, takes more than a few months to achieve. In order to provide the time to affect a strategic, long term plan, the government of Ontario, as you know, has provided $500,000,000 over 5 years to help stabilize the industry in the interim.
