AN APPEAL TO THE MEMBERSHIP
As outlined in the CTHS Membership Update, e-mailed to the Membership on Monday October 1st, the Government-appointed Transition Panel has requested an extension of two weeks for presentation of their Final Report, with recommendations for the future of the Ontario Horse Racing Industry. Despite the fact that the Panel has been encouraged by the Industry’s willingness to co-operate on a successful transition to a more self-sustainable business model, it is vitally important that we, as an Industry, exert and maintain as much pressure as possible on the Government. Accordingly, it is imperative that our Membership and all Breeders make their voices heard.
Please click here to go to Racing Future.com, where you will find a list of key people to contact, with their respective e-mail addresses and phone numbers, for your convenience. We urge you to keep our cause vibrant and at the forefront of attention by Premier Dalton McGuinty, Finance Minister Dwight Duncan and Deputy Minister of Finance and Secretary of the Treasury Board, Steve Orsini. If each CTHS Ontario Member takes the time to call or write one of these contacts, an additional 530 voices will be heard. Tell your story and describe how the cancellation of the Slots at Racetracks Program is going to, or already has affected you! The next few weeks are critical! We need the support of each and everyone of you!
We have a viable, world class Industry - PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO HELP SAVE IT!!!
